Reculver towers to Coldharbour.

A Meadow Pipit on the Beach at Reculver.
An hour spent at Reculver this afternoon, walking from the towers along the beach to Cold harbour, and back along the sea wall. The light drizzle finished at noon, and a bright afternoon was encountered, as I left the towers, walking East towards Cold harbour. The sea did not produce much, 7 Brent Geese, a solitary Eider and a few Cormorants, while along the shore line I saw Turnstone, Redshank, a single Ringed Plover and 2 Grey Plover. Walking back along the sea wall, a Stonechat was seen, and 3 Little Grebes were in the dyke along side the Oyster farm. Only bird of prey was a Kestrel, and most of my time was spent photographing the Meadow Pipits feeding along the beach. I would estimate about 50 birds were present, and a flock of linnets, 16 in total flew along the beach and joined the Meadow Pipits. 3 Greenfinches were noted, and a Blackbird posed in a bush, as I took a photo. Not much on offer, but a few decent Meadow Pipit photographs were obtained. I bumped into John Cantello, who told me of a Desert Wheatear showing at Sandwich Bay, but although a bird I have never seen, I could not muster the enthusiasm to go and see it. I will be there tomorrow, when it will probably be long gone.
