Common Whitethroat, plentiful around the railway embankment.
I spent a few hours this morning, along with Mike Gould, looking around the bushes along the railway embankment, at Chambers wall, Reculver. We counted at least 20 Common Whitethroats, feeding on the low berry bushes, and got a view off a Lesser Whitethroat, as it skulked about low in the vegetation. A quick walk around the Cold Harbour lagoon, with 2 Common Sandpipers seen, (and heard by Mike), a Shell Duck, and a large flock of Linnets feeding on the shingle ridge. 8+ Meadow Pipits were noted, as were 4 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Pied Wagtails and a Wheatear flew along the beach. We retraced our steps, and spent another 30 minutes around the railway embankment, with still numerous Common Whitethroats present, and added a Marsh Harrier and a few Swallows to our list.
