A Green Sandpiper, in front of the Turf Field hide, this morning.
I spent a couple of hours in the Turf Field hide this morning, in the company of Martyn Wilson , Allan Ashdown and Mike Gould, where we patiently waited for photograph opportunities, which were very far and few between. A Green Sandpiper landed on the Island in front of the hide, but alighted a few minutes later, leaving the Drake Red Crested Pochard and a few Coots, to photograph. Common Terns were busy fishing, and a Grey Heron as did a Little Egret flew over the hide. Reed Buntings, Sedge and Reed Warblers were all busy feeding broods, and at least 3 Marsh Harriers were viewed. The Natural England Photo workshop commenced in the hide at 11.00 am, and we sat in on it for an hour, but then left, noting Green Sandpiper, Little Ringed Plover, and 2 Black-tailed Godwits from the viewing ramp on the way out.
