More wind and rain at Grove ferry.

Shell Duck.
Another windswept day at Grove ferry, where I decided to check out the path to the White House, and the path to the farm midway between the Harrison’s hide and the Marsh hide, for any new incomming migrants. All I found for my troubles were umpteen singing Wrens, with even more Cetti’s Warblers, which seem to be occupying every other bush. Several Sedge Warblers could be heard chattering in the reed beds, with a few braving the wind to perch high on there chosen reed stem. Still not located a Reed Warbler yet, but surely will soon. Only 5 Swallows noted, with the Marsh hide not revealing anything, although Martyn and Marc had a pair of Green Sandpipers there earlier. 3 Ruffs, A single Dunlin and 4 Redshank and 9 Common Snipe were the wader count for me today, pretty dismal but I never hung about to long to check all the nooks and crannies. Finishing on the ramp with Martyn and Marc, we left in the company of Dylan, nearing the end of his 24 hour marathon birding trip, trying to add Lesser and Common Whitethroat to our list, Which Martyn and Marc had earlier along the river towards the reserve entrance. No luck with the Whitethroats, but hopefully the weather will be a little better tomorrow morning.
