A return to Clowes Wood.

A Brambling, feeding in the Clowes Wood.
As I left home at 7 o clock this morning, it was calm, bright and sunny. I decided to re visit Clowes Wood, to try and get some more photo’s in the sun light. As I entered the car park at Clowes, the sun disappeared, and it soon started to snow, quite heavily at times. Is it me ? I stayed for a couple of hours as I was there, and met Allan Ashdown, and later Mike Gould, whom both had the same idea as me. Birds noted were at least 4 Firecrest, which proved impossible to photograph in the now dull light, several Goldcrest, 2 Brambling, 5 Coal Tits, with Blue, Great and Long-tailed Tits, as well as Chaffinches, Dunnock and Robins. A Jay was seen, and also Magpie, and Great Spotted Woodpecker were noted in the wood. A return on a sunny morning will be in order, as the Firecrest were showing very well up to when the snow started falling.
